The Tories Go Upside Of Down In Japan

(Los Angeles)-After many years of searching for the right label to bring their music to Japan, The Tories The Upside of Down will be released in the Japanese market on the King Records label in August.

"This took a long time to put together," commented Mark Joseph of MJM who began shopping a deal for lead singer Steve Bertrand's previous band Peace Child in 1995. "I've always believed in Steve and knew that his pop sensibilities would find a lot of fans in Japan."

"I'm totally ecstatic about this deal," commented Bertrand. "America is only 30% of the global music market and to get an opportunity to have our music into Japan really excites me."

The release marks the second in the U.S. for this power pop trio, best known for performing the theme song for the TV sitcome Jesse. The band's first album Wonderful World, was released on Phil Ramone's N2K label in 1997.

"We absolutely would love to go over and do a short tour of Japan," Bertrand added. "From what I've heard the Japanese are fans for the long haul and we're a group that plans to be around for it."
