Sixpence None The Richer Records Japanese Version Of Kiss Me

(Los Angeles)-Leigh Nash of Sixpence None The Richer wowed Japanese fans on February 19th when the Japanese version of her band's smash single Kiss Me debuted on Japanese radio. In what was referred to on the CD jacket as a "self-cover", Sixpence singer Leigh Nash sang the translated Japanese lyrics to the band's smash single.

"Leigh picked it up very well-she's a real pro" noted MJM Entertainment's Mark Joseph who worked with Nash in the studio on her Japanese pronunciation. "Japanese is not the easiest language to pick up on, but Leigh did an amazing job."

The single was released as one of six songs on a special EP released in the Japanese market and has quickly become a collectors item for fans. Though only available in Japan, comedian Ellen DeGeneres somehow got wind of it and asked Nash to sing a line from the song during a Grammy red carpet interview.

"Doing something like this really shows the band's Japanese fans that this is a band that wants to go the extra mile for them," noted MJM's Ric Rodeheaver.
