MJM to Distribute Chevelle Imports

MJM Entertainment Group has announced the signing of a deal to distribute import copies of the Chicago based modern rock act Chevelle's record "Point #1" to the Japanese market. Japanese domestic pressings of the CD have already hit the Japanese market on July 4th and the imports are expected to reach the market at the end of July.

"Imports are an important tool to reach the hard core rock underground and helps to give the band street credibility," noted MJM's Mark Joseph. "They are less expensive than the Japanese pressing, but ultimately we hope that many fans will first buy the import and then pick up the domestic pressing which has a bonus track as well as liner notes and lyrics in Japanese."

So far the reception in Japan to Chevelle has been solid with the record receiving a strong rating from Japan's premiere hard rock magazine, Burnn! Receiving a rating of 83 out of a possible 100, "Point #1" beat out Bad Religion's "The New America" and ranked a point behind Pearl Jam's "Binaural." In September Chevelle is scheduled to travel to Japan to play three dates opening for the band Sevendust and promote their record.
