MJM Releases James Felix Classic in Japan

(Tokyo)-Former Andrae Crouch & The Disciples member Jaymes Felix's 1980 solo record White As Snow, was released in the Japanese pop music market on July 10th. The CD includes liner notes written by Toshi Nakada of Cool Sound and a Japanese translation of Felix's songs.

Originally released in the Gospel market in the US, White As Snow will reach a mainstream audience for the first time, two decades after its release. It will also be the second time for Felix's work to hit the Japanese pop market. In 1982, Felix along with friends Steve Lukather, Jeff Porcaro, David Garfield, Tom Scott, Ernie Watts, and Neil Larsen released an album in Japan entitled Dream Come True. White As Snow, however, marks Felix's first solo release in Japan and the artist is anxious to tour in support of the record.

"I'd love to go there again sometime. Our music was well received and the audiences were very receptive," Felix observed.

"I'm glad we could be a part of releasing this album in Japan," noted MJM's Mark Joseph. "Jaymes' music has got a lot of feeling and he has a lot to say."

"I think that the Japanese will like his sound and style," noted Ric Rodeheaver who coordinated the deal for MJM and Coolsound." Future releases on the MJM/Cool Sound label include CD's by Bob & Pauline Wilson, Michael & Stormie Omartian, Roby Duke, Bob Bailey and Chris Eaton.
