Our expertise is in helping to develop, market and publicize your unique brand and/or project. We have handled the development, branding, marketing and publicity for dozens of media properties including films, books, music and live events.
As a result of our our extensive background in the Far East, we also offer business consulting services for market entry into one of the world’s largest markets, Japan.
Some of Hollywood’s top film studios and independent producers have relied on MJM to help them reach their target audience. Our services have included developing and executing marketing and publicity plans for dozens of films, identifying book properties that can be adapted to film, script consultation and working with recording artists to create film soundtracks. From 2001-2005, MJM ran Walden Media’s grassroots marketing operation affectionately dubbed “the boiler room,” supervising the grassroots marketing campaigns for a dozen films including Holes, Because of Winn-Dixie, Joshua, I Am David, The Chronicles of Narnia and many others.
MJM has worked extensively in music for three decades, producing music for film, distributing over 100 cd’s by artists like Chevelle and Sixpence None The Richer to the lucrative Asian market and producing songs for dozens of television commercials. Our most recent work includes producing Dave Mustaine of Megadeths’ rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” for the film America and producing B.J. Thomas’ song “Walk On” for the film Doonby.
With an extensive network of contacts in the Japanese business and political communities, MJM has helped a variety of U.S. companies enter the lucrative Japanese market. For companies contemplating entering the market whatever the business structure it is crucial that the initial steps and decisions be well considered and carefully executed. We begin by working with our clients to understand their business, service, product or technology. Once we have a clear understanding of the strategic fit in Japan, we then work with the client to develop and execute a plan of entry that is custom tailored for each client’s needs. Initial plan execution often involves identifying a Japanese partner or an initial customer.
Our activities do not end upon completion of an agreement between client and partner, however, as we continue to work with our clients as they transition past the initial honeymoon period and encounter the realities of operating a business in Japan
